I made a puppet head with bake-able clay that I have now painted with liquid latex. I have some craft doll hair and I'm wondering what options I have for adhering this to the latex, any glue recommendations? Hoping to use something clean looking where you can't see the glue so much afterwards.
One more question! Any tips for getting wavy hair? I found both curly and straight hair at the store but I wanted something in the middle. Anyone experience this and find a solution? Puppet is about 12" tall.
Thank you friends!
If you look for 'How to make a doll wig' on YouTube, you will find a lot of videos showing various methods.
It is quite a good idea to make a wig cap and attach the hair to that, because then you can at least alter things easily. And you can use PVA, as in Tacky Glue. But if you want to attach wefts to the head directly, you could do that with liquid latex.
I like using a glue called Fabri-Tac, which is acetone based, so not as benign as PVA. It can also be bought is small bottles with a needle nozzle, making it good for applying in small quantities. But the acetone evaporates through the plastic bottle, so you need to top it up every so often.
