I'll be ordering two armatures this week but am not sure which to go for.
option one is through: http://www.animationsupplies.net/armatures/standard-armature.html
option two is through: http://www.stopmotionshop.com/pro-studio-armature-kit-329-p.asp
I have heard things about the animation supplies armatures not being great quality. Our film is 5-6 minutes long. I have heard good things about JC's stuff, but I'm wondering if anyone here has had experience with it? Please let me know your thoughts!
Hi. I haven't tried the JC's. It looks good. For the price I'd give it a go.
My take on Animation Supplies; Not that great. I am currently using a few joints from them on an armateur that also uses John Wright's joints. There is no comparison. The Animation Supplies joint design is built with far less tolerance to stress and wear. They keep misbehaving.
JC's looks alot better IMO or you can go for anibild armacreature for the same price.
or the basic anibild 2 for half the price http://www.animationtoolkit.co.uk/anibild-two-intermediate-armature/
Julian Clark's armature's are great. He is also really good to work with and can modify them without too much hassle or extra cost. They are my choice for sure. I've used them in all of my recent tests. You can see them here: https://www.instagram.com/adamtaylor_animator/
I also used one of them for a 5 and a half minute film last year with no problems. I'm still using the same one now and bought a second.
I personally modify mine with an extra neck and spine joint but that's all the mods I've had to do.
https://kineticarmatures.com/ idk, this guy also has a profile on this forum, kek :3
and how it can be possible to pass by his beautiful works
Are any of these available in the USA? I am about to purchase a decent armature and was curious. Anibild looks like a good choice.
