I know this matte painting section is barely dead, but I wanted to share with the few interested people, some of my last paintings. I have started to do a series of matte paintings replicas.

I’m doing the paintings on a Plexiglas surface; witch is the cheaper and closer to glass.

The first one I want to show you is from a film I think we all know and love, King Kong (1933) The painting of the Skull island.

I hope you like it.

I forgot to post the original one painted by Mario Larrinaga.

The second replica is from Superman 1978. The original painting was by Les Bowie I think, maybe with the help of Ray Caple.

Best regards.

The original Kong painting by Larrinaga

I’ve been busy with some other projects but the second matte painting replica from King Kong33. The log sequence painting.

It was originally made as a combination of miniature and glass shot, but I have done it as a full painting.

I hope you like it.

Dude these are so underrated and they look wonderful!

Love it! I would buy a print!

HI Lee.

Thanks for the compliment. I’m not selling prints, just the original paintings.  But if you really want a copy of the painting we can solve this easily.

I will send you a message.

Regards.
