Hi all,

I'm a Windows idiot. I usually work on a Mac, but recently acquired a laptop running Windows 7 that I was hoping to use for shooting with DragonFrame. DF allows you to run the software on 2 computers, but not simultaneously. I've got DF installed, but am getting a message saying:

Drafonframe requires OpenGL 2.1.

Your graphics/driver card is using OpenGL 1.1.0.

The program will now exit.

So, I'm pretty good at finding and downloading what I need on a Mac, but am having trouble finding what I need for the Windows machine. Can anybody point me to a link that takes me to a direct download for the needed driver?

I ask because when I do my searches, it seems like a lot of them are pointing me at some kind of driver updater, which, when installed, lets me find what drivers are out of date, then wants me to pay money to use the downloaded program to find and install said drivers. It's kind of turning into a headache and I'm realizing again why I don't like using Windows.

Thanks!

OpenGL drivers are part of your Graphics card (GPU) drivers. Depending on what type of GPU you have, there are two different sites to get your drivers.

NVIDIA: Click here to find Nvidia Drivers

AMD: Click here to find AMD Drivers

If you don't know exactly what brand or type of GPU you have:

The easiest way is to click START > Control Panel > Windows Update. Look in Optional Updates for Graphics Drivers, Display Drivers, or something similar, and check the appropriate boxes. Click Install Updates and Windows will do everything for you, restarting and removing old files if needed.

Another super simple way to find out what card you have:

START > There should be a little search box.
Copy and paste "mmc devmgmt.msc" without quotes, and hit Enter.

Click the "+" next to DISPLAY ADAPTERS

That will tell you exactly what Graphics card you have.

** If you install the drivers without Windows Update, make sure to uninstall the old drivers before installing the new ones. That will be under START > Control Panel > Programs and Features. Right-Click what you want to get rid of, and click Uninstall.

Hope that helps. If you have any questions at all about computer/Windows stuff feel free to message me anytime. I build custom Windows computers on the side, and I understand how confusing it can be switching between Mac and Windows.

Mike - thanks so much! Got it updated, DF starts up like it should now. Really, really appreciated!

Great news!  Happy to help.
