I hadn't seen that, so thanks for posting it Strider!
Whoops - I assumed everybody was checking for new ParaNorman featurettes on youtube! They were putting out one every week or two for a while there, and the first one was posted about here on the board when it came out.
I also assume by now everyone knows to stay until the very bitter end of the credits sequence for a Laika movie. This speeded-up sequence of puppet construction is what they show at the end of ParaNorman. Now that you know, and can watch it in HD as many times as you want, you won't have to piss off the attendant by sitting steadfastly in the theater wih your 3D glasses on while the poor guy stands patiently holding the exit door open and you're the only one left through the rather overlong end credits (like I was).
Now that I've just watched it several times, I have a question - guess I'll start a new thread for it.
I penned a quick "materials and techniques" used on the lamp video that might be useful http://puppetfilms.blogspot.com/ It has links on where the get materials.
Best wishes -Gary
Holy crap!!! Toby Froud, who played the baby in Labyrinth, was a puppet fabricator for Paranorman.
That's cool. I'm a big fan of Brian Froud's work. Not seen much of Toby's. Love The Dark Crystal
