Hello, I got started with animation a couple years ago as a quick LEGO project to show my niece and nephew. I got hooked! I've been slowly learning with little projects but I'm finally producing pieces I'm ready to share for comments and suggestions. Looking forward to participating in such a rich community of artists.

Welcome to the community!  I look forward to seeing some of your work.  :-)

Hey there, my name's Elliott and I joined this site to help me learn about stop-motion from experts and develop my fabrication skills. I hope to soon be sharing projects I'm working on with all of you here.

Thank you! :)

Hi Everyone.
I did stop motion at college back in the 80s on a Boles 16mm camera and a lovely (where is it now?) rostrum cam at Portsmouth Polytechnic in the uK (now a uni).
I started a small studio back then, but I got sidetracked into being in a band for 10 years and was a pro musician for a while. 20 years out of that (with "proper" jobs, still film-maker, butmore corporate variety) I want to get back in. And its all changed. Im on a almost no budget but nevertheless want to set up a good workplace, with functional gear. I'm good with electronics and making stuff, but have a lot to learn with digital cameras and Dragonframe etc. Im starting small, with a cheap Canon , som lights, and some DIY sliders and stuff, hoping to progress to full moco as time and money allow.
I actually havea. half finished animation film from 35 years ago, that I'm intending to digitise and finish, so that's project #1. In addition, I have plans to rig 2 old dolls I have and make a kind of dark comedy about 2 discarded dolls who hate each other...
At least that's the plan...
I ask a lot of stupid questions so I hope you guys do get fed up with me...

Mark

Hi, everyone its ya boi, Colin Grayson. I am interested in stop motion because I want to make a movie similar to the monster movies I grew up with such as the original 1933 King Kong and my favorite fantasy movie Clash of The Titans. I want to learn as much so I can make the best possible movie and enjoy it! I am currently trying to determine whether or not to do a bear or a monkey. Looking for as much help as possible

Hi everyone! I'm interested in stop motion animation, mostly with Army Men, Lego, and Transformers. I've had some practice with making stop motions with all of them. I've been making them for a long time, but I'm still not so good at it. My dream for stop motion is to create an entire series of stop motions episodes from all kinds of toys and action figures. I joined the forum to learn more about stop motion, to discover and watch stop motions, to improve my videos with advice from the community, and to share some of what I've already made and what I will make in the future. The forum looks like a good place to learn as much as I can about stop motion. I'm excited to be part of the stop motion community!

I'm an old member, but I made a new account some years ago to replace the old one.

I'm David Tomasiewicz, and I use stop-motion and computer animation to create shorts.

I'm currently finishing up college, so I'll be here more often starting this summer.

Until next time,

Stay tuned, and stay frosty.

Hey everyone, I've been focused on stop motion for the last 5 years. Before that, I mostly did flash animations. I've always been intrigued by this technique, and so far I find it quite addictive!

As I mentioned I've been interested for a while now, and I've been referencing this site since the very beginning.

Till now I've just used Sculpey to create all of my puppets heads. I shape it, bake it, & paint it. Everything else is wire, foam, and cloth. However, being a big Will Vinton fan, I'd like to transition into using nothing but clay. With that being said, I'll likely have a question or two, and I'm glad that I finally joined the forum!

So greetings everyone, I look forward to meeting you guys!

Hello all.

Name is Zed Steuer, have recently been interested in getting back into doing art, and lately stop motion animation.

I have a BFA in Animation but never really done anything with it, mostly done illustrations. Then life decisions happened and I swung out of my creativity mind set. Just recently I have been getting back into the creativity swing and picked up stop motion animation. I have done stop motion in college and really enjoyed it and figured I could learn a new skill or two from it. I also do enjoy photography as a hobby, win/win right?

I am currently in the process of making a stop motion animation project and also making my own figure with a custom armature that I am building my self. So I'll be asking plenty of questions on here!
