StopMotionAnimation.com

taking one frame at a time since 1999

HI guys.

Not sure if anyone can answer it here but iv Goggled and haven't had much luck and this place seems to have the answer to everything :)

I rendered my video for YouTube in AE under the following setting

H.264

Bitrate 8

Quality Full

Size 1280 x 720

29.97 FPS

When I uploaded it and view it on the computer, quality has been losed and the animation is jerky (even in HD)

However when I view it on the Ipad the quality is perfect :(.  So this obv means the quality has been uploaded but for some reason when I view it on the computer (even at max setting) it looks terrible. Both devices are using the same internet.

Does anyone have any experience with YouTube, do I need different render setting in AE to get the quality on computer and Ipad?

Im such a newb at this and any help would be really appreciated.

When you watch it on the iPad you are viewing it on Youtube, the same as on the computer, yes?  I don't understand why there would be a difference.  Your settings look similar to mine when I upload to Youtube (except the frame rate since I am in a country that uses PAL 25 fps).  Youtube does compress your video when it converts it, but as far as I know it should look the same regardless of which device you see it on.

I will click your link to watch on my Mac Pro and on my iPad...  Oops, it says video has been removed by the user.

If anything, it sounds like a problem with the computer.  An older slower computer may struggle to play 720p smooth video, or it may have issues with RAM or something.  Or an older Flash player, I've been getting messages about the Flash player on my Mac being out of date when I try to play clips at Youtube because I still use OSX Snow Leopard.  But my iPad has an up to date iOS on it.

Yeah I think it might have something to do with the computer because when I viewed it from the college and it was fine.

I deleted it because i am going to upload it again and see if its anything on my side. But like you said it more than likely my old laptop. Thanks
