Hi, is it possible to control the webcam features via shortcut keys? Let's say I'm using the capture software and I want to animate a zoom in/out without always entering the webcam software, operate on the zoom cursors and then returning to the capture software. Is there a way to control the zoom by pressing keys directly from the capture software?

If you have Windows, maybe you could try out some webcam control software

Edit: Seems like you can do this with SplitCam

Thanks a lot John, I'll take a try with your suggestions

No problemo! Don't forget to report back -- be interested to see if it works...

sure.. I'm testing also other software, I'll let you know what I'll find

Nothing at all.. Splitcam seemed to have the feature I was searching for, but I can't open it together with another photo capture software (the webcam is recognized either from one software or from the other, it can't be handled from both together); I've also tried other software but nothing useful. I think I'll keep using the Logitech official control software, keep the window open and work alternatively between the capture software and the cam control window..

Wow - that sounds like an obstacle course, not a workaround! Good luck...

Ok.. I wrote to the developers of the software I'm using at the moment (AnimaShooter) and they say they're going to include such kind of features in following releases.. It looks really strange to me that stop motion dedicated softwares don't include shortcut keys to webcam controls (unless it's a matter of webcams companies copyrights)

"...webcams companies copyrights..."

Yeah, I would imagine that's a bit of a minefield. But you would think it's in their interests to have this information in the public domain.
