Hello, this is my first post on the new forum!
Just thought I would share the latest edit of my stop-motion short "The Tectonic Terror". This edit is in the style of a 50's B movie. The model was made by building up cotton and liquid latex over a ball and socket armature. Let me know what you think. Constructive criticism always welcome. Here is the YouTube link:
Hey Wallace, I really enjoyed that. I'm doing a 50's sci-fi myself...
I thought it was cool that you did the B&W and had miniature versions of the tanks etc.
Nice footage of real tanks and planes...
Thanks Stanley! The first edit of this was in color, with modern day footage of tanks and planes. For some reason, it didn't have the impact I wanted. I pretty much stumbled on the b/w footage and realized those scenes would have looked a lot better. So, I inserted the b/w stock footage and things seemed to gel a little better. Of course I had to make everything b/w to match, but kept a few color elements. The music and titles glue everything together. Although its hard to cut scenes that took hours and hours to produce, I think this slimmed down version flows a lot better. So much so, I deleted the first version entirely. There are a couple of deleted scenes that I may upload to YouTube. Keep me posted on your 50's sci-fi project!
