WandaVision now showing on Disney+. Some practical FX in the first 2 episodes were mentioned on another thread so I thought I'd create a dedicated thread for the show here. It's ok there is no stopmo (yet). I am watching it as well and am really enjoying it so far.
Lol Anthony sorry I mentioned it now my fault.. it's so easily done isn't it.. the thread becoming derailed.. I love the concept of WandaVision.. It feels like hints of The Trauman show 1998, that movie, or Pleasantville 1998 or Under the Dome 2014 and bewitched 1964 and various other stuff maybe.. I didn't know anything about these characters from the Marvel films.. so it came as a big surprise then when I watched age of ultra who they were... but makes sense now..
No worries James, that's what a Moderator does, and CHAT BOARD is the right place for it!
I've always liked Scarlet Witch and Vision since the 1970s when I used to read Avengers comics. Really liking this new show. Never dreamed I'd see a show like this, or the incredible Marvel movies. You'd never see a show like this brought to broadcast television, Netflix, Disney+, Apple, Amazon Prime are creating entertaining content.
I'm not sure I like it. I watched the first two episodes and was going to call the guy that recommended it and tell him he owes me an hour of my life back. THEN I watched some "Screen Rant" videos that went into depth on all the Easter Eggs I missed and no idea how they played into characters that I barely knew and now I am excited to see the next episode, but if I miss it I am not crying. I never heard of Vision until Age Of Ultron, all of my comics are Star Wars, Conan, or Weird Tales and Witchblade more recently.
Ok I am sold. Last nights episode went by in a flash. It's getting more interesting and has become worthy of my time.
Anthony.. I sadly never got into comics growing up.. I wish I had..
Steve.. I felt the same way at first, when I watched the first two episodes, I thought there taking the piss here.. but I guess like you I didn't know who those characters were based on until I watched Marvel's - Avengers Age of Ultron - now it all makes sense... yeah episode 3 was quite cool.. and 4 even better.. I just seen it now.. I like where it's going now.. I think it's only going to get better...
Episode 6 has Stop Motion in it. OH yeah!
I assume its stop motion. Good fake if it is not.
Looks like stopmo to me as well.
It looks like true stop mo to me as well but I got fooled bad on the dance scene in "Box Trolls" and some of the new television commercials over the last few years that unless there is a behind the scenes I am skeptical.
Complete turn around on this show to me. The episodes just fly by and has become the quickest 1/2 hour on television.
Also it was Screen Crush and not Screen Rant that turned me around.
I can't believe I'm paying Disney £5.99 per month just to watch this series lol.. interesting, but I don't feel the episodes are long enough.. I like upto an hour.. although 6 was 45x mins I think.. I didn't even notice that there was stopmotion in it when I was watching it.. I'm use to seeing stopmo everywhere it just didn't register..
