Try HitFilm Express -- it's pretty comprehensive, and there are lots of good tutorials too.
For the more professional animation shot with a Canon EOS DSLR, the capture software (like Dragonframe or Stop Motion Pro) and the editing software (like Vegas, Premiere, or Final Cut Pro) are two different things. And a lot of the effects work is done on another program, like After Effects. And they tend to cost money.
If you are using a computer, is it a Mac or a PC? I think there are a couple for windows pc. It's worth googling to see what comes up. The only free one I knew for Mac, Framethief, is too out of date to work with the current or recent OS I think.
Hit film Express, that John Oakley posted a link to - looks like a reasonably good video editor, with the core program for free but a lot of add-ons you can pay for. Runs on both PC and Mac, too. But it probably doesn't work as a stop motion frame grabber.
If you want to shoot with a smart phone or tablet, you can definitely use a free frame grabber like Stop Motion Studio (which I tested on an iPad) or a couple of others.
Cookieeeee - You might not know it, but the guys who developed Dragonframe are members of this forum. They check in now and then to help when someone has a difficulty with Dragonframe. Somehow I don't think they will be very impressed to see you offering a crack version to someone - they put a lot of time, money, and hard work into creating Dragonframe and keeping it up to date with new camera models.
For now im going to try out hitfilm express hopefully it will improve my films thanks for the suggestions!
I really need a good editing software that is free and is good for making stop motion films
do not torture yourself :( there is no a GOOD and both FREE software for stopmo, good choice for newbie users are StopMotionPro and it's very cheep, just 18$ per month, is this a money for making films? idk.
if u want RLY good soft, that gives you comfortable workspace ofc, and it's like a nuff said about how A LOT it means for doing stopmo, just one word: COMFORT
I make stop motion movies but i cant afford dragonframe...
Can you please send this cracked version to me so i can make more animations on a proffesional software? If you agree, this is my email: email@example.com
For now I did some work with dragon frame, and I used the crack version...would be good just for my hobby work. I can maybe send your the one I'm using
I personally use Joyoshare Media Cutter for audio and video editing. I get it for free due to its recent back-to-school promotions. Actually, it's a combination of video cutter, merger, converter, and editor on Windows and Mac. Besides the ability to edit videos in a professional manner, it also supports various kinds of formats and allows customizing the video quality. That's really satisfying me.
I am now editing with Blackmagic's Da Vinci Resolve, which is free, but works like most pro editing software so it was easy to pick up after using Final Cut Pro 6 and 7, or Premiere Pro. (More familiar than going to Final Cut Pro X!) There is a paid version but I don't need it. I edit in 1920 x 1080 HD but the free version can also go up to Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 (sometimes called "4k", though true 4k is a little wider at 4096 pixels).
