taking one frame at a time since 1999

This is a small scale stunt double for the Lovecraft creature Brown Jenkin. It is a rat with a human-ish head, from Dreams in the Witch House. It is only to be used for a wide shot where it runs down the corridor. All closeups will be animated by Richard Swensson using his beautiful Brown Jenkin puppet. It can be seen in action at Richard's Bluworm channel at Youtube,in "Concerning Brown Jenkin", and there is also a video showing how it was made.

Love it! It reminds me of a ghastly night I spent many years ago in a run-down hotel in Pachmari, India. The ceiling of my room was very high, and all night there was the sound of heavy pattering going back and forth in the roofspace above. They were either rats or lemurs (Brown Jenkin looks like a sort of hybrid of these!). All I could do was lie awake imagining one of these creatures falling through the flimsy ceiling and landing on my bed. How would I fend off an angry lemur in the dark...?! It was a truly awful experience, but of course they didn't fall through the ceiling.

I did not spend another night in that place...

Richard's Brown Jenkin:

Really there was no point me making one if there was a chance of using this, it is exactly how I would like to to look.  It will be shot against greenscreen and composited into background images of my set for all the close shots.
