The body is built up from cushion foam over a wire armature, so it's far from perfect, but with dark dramatic lighting I think it can come up looking ok for the 6 to 8 seconds it will be on screen. Head is cast in foam latex, but additional built-up tentacles were added, and I added to the back of the head with more cushion foam. Wings are latex over wire, with the membrane made from a thin layer of liquid latex dabbed onto a plaster mould. Originally he would appear in this corridor, knocking on Poe's door. But I may change the script so he taps on the window instead, that way he can be used with the 1:24 scale house exterior, and be much bigger. Still nowhere near as tall as the 4 story house, but the right height to peer in the window.

Thanks. I will hunt down Tony's online. Yes, those scales! I'm working out how to do the very 3D scales on the Komodo. Going to try gluing little styrofoam beads about the size of grains of sand on scales sculpted on the body and painting a thin layer of latex over it to get those little "bumps"... Not quite sure what I'm doing. Wish me luck! There are some good overhead videos of the lizard's walk from zoologists. Their hind legs are crazy, they look as though they were put on back on backwards... Will def. post pics of the process ( expecting it to be a "process", ha ).
