This is my first ever stop motion, just testing some things and would like as many advice and critics as possible :D I think it's too fast...don't know if I should increase number of shots or decrease fps-this is on 12 fps. Also walk cycle looks too robotic and this flickering bugs me a bit

Yeah ... it seems too fast to me. I'm usualy shooting 24fps but only for 12 pictures (every one is taken twice - it's a kind of cheating, but it works well). I would recomend to you just to try out different speeds to see what suits you. Testing is the most important part of stop motion animation :) ... I might talk about this on my blog in the future, when I'm about to start shooting my project.

Thanks for the comment Pavel :)
I found out that fps and its usage is my main problem,I just can't figure out,for example, how many seconds does it take for a character to go from A to B and do some action in real life and then shoot that kind of a scene in stop motion using right fps..so if you have any advice regarding that :)

well.. that depends on you, I think. And the distance from A to B :) HERE you can take a look on one of the schemes for animating walk. You have to be really patient and avoid making big movement changes with your puppets... Personaly I do't have any "time" set for different moves, I just do them as they seem right. Must sound weird, but thats how I do it :)

As Yoda said: "You must feel the force" :D

Probably the best way to decide how long to take for a move is to act it out yourself - maybe do it over and over trying different timings, until you feel like you've got it figured out. Count out seconds as you go or use some kind of stopwatch. For something like a ball bouncing or rolling just move your finger along like the ball and try different speeds for different parts of the move.

Also study these examples - use the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard to go through them frame by frame: http://www.brianlemay.com/animationexamples/animationindex.html

These are excellent examples of the Principles: http://www.stopmotionanimation.com/page/the-12-principles-of-animat...

Great links I'll check them out, timing part was bugging me the most actually, I used try-error technique until I got something I wanted :D
