Hi,

i have a question related to animating some kind of a ball, like football or a tennis ball. I'm creating  a scene where my clay character is kicking a ball into the air,and i don't know how to achieve the ball to fly through the air in some direction and stay in the air for some time...any help?

Also i'm doing the same scene type but with pixilation-I will be the kicker and have to figure it out how to keep the ball in the air :)

Final question..is using Photoshop,Gimp or similar software allowed in stop motion? For example removing wires, glue and other supporting materials out of frames.

Thanks for all the help :)

Thanks for all the info!

So Here's the ceiling of my bedroom, I don't think I can use the fire alarm to hang stuff cause it's sensitive, and the other thing is a fan so it's gonna have air and move stuff...

Sadly its a wide shot and there's around 30-40 balls at one point of the shot so using any kind of rig or so would be a pain cause the space should already be occupied by other balls, I think I'll have to explain more, I'll do a thread for it in the coming days

Fishing rod's a good idea. Or maybe something longer and less flexible, like one of those extendable pruners. Maybe rather than have some poor schmuck have to hold it up all day rig it up on something so it stands at the right angle and you can slide it around. Maybe duct-tape it onto a bicycle so that togther they form a good stong tripod that will stand up, but the wheels allow you to move it easily. Or a wheelbarrow or something.

About the balls bouncing in the room - honestly I have no idea how to do that. The way you describe it it sounds basically impossible. You'd almost have to erase rigs or composite the balls in or something. One more thing I can think of would be thin wires running straight up and down from floor to ceiling and the balls have pinholes right throiugh them so they can slide up and down on the wires - but I don't know how you'd attach the wires to the ceiling without ruining it, and you might not want the balls to just bounce straight up and down.

I love all the ideas, surely some of them will be used..and after I make my animation,I'll post it here for comments :)
