Hello everyone,

Looking for some help, hopefully someone has already been in the situation I am right now and can give me some insights.

The problem is sound. Somehow the sound clips are not been synced during my export via After Effects.

So my procedure is the following:

1. Import raw photos into Adobe

2. Change to 16 bit

3. Change fps to 24

3. Export them into Quicktime Pro Ress 444

Is there an option in Dragonframe to make sure that the sound gets attached directly to the raw images?

Thank you

The sound is only there in Dragonframe to help you animate.   I don't think it attaches the audio to the pictures, they are individual images.   I see they are a sequence of Raw still images when you import them into After Effects, that is how I do it too.  I don't know if AE can attach audio to a mov file or not, I have never tried that.  I guess if I edited live video with sound, I might want to keep the audio attached through all the different steps, but I build my sound tracks in my editing program (Final Cut Pro 6 or Da Vinci Resolve).  I don't find it hard to put the sound file in an audio track and move it a frame or two forward and back until it matches the animation.  I could make a note of what frame number the audio starts on in DF, but I don't bother, and I might be trimming a few frames off the start anyway so the frame numbers might change.

Dragonframe doesn't attach audio to your RAW frames. It can only attach your audio when you export a Quicktime from Dragonframe.

You'll need 1 more step in your process: Export a low-res reference Quicktime from Dragonframe with audio. Import this into AE with your RAW sequence, and add it to your RAW comp, but turn off the visibility eyeball (you can check that the RAW sequence and Quicktime are in-sync before you turn it off, but they should naturally be the same length). Keep the sound for the quicktime layer on (the audio icon next to the eyeball), and export your ProRes.

This is a good step to keep audio in sync as the animator intended, and to triple check that the sequence conformed properly.

Thank you! That is the correct workflow to keep up the sound into an Ae export!
