Here's where I'm at with the sculpture for my studio scale replica puppet of Talos..... still tweaking proportions and have just started adding some texturing details..... more to come

After your amazing Cyclops and Tauntaun, it's no surprise to see how good it is!  You have captured the spirit of the way Ray sculpted Talos, rather than a generic male statue.

The only proportion I'm not sure about is the hands, they seem a bit wide and square.  With the detailing the front looks pretty well there, the back not quite as finished.  I don't remember - do we even see Talos from the back in Jason?

Wow the likeness is pretty dead on, love it! Are you going to have an actual armature in him?

Wow! First Kong, then Taun-Taun, after that the Cyclops and now Talos!

What will he make next?

LOL!

Great job! I love it!

Keep up the good work!

Brilliant stuff! Ray would be proud! What about a Rhedosaurus next???

Nick, you're absolutely right about the hands. Although the armature hand plates are a tad wide I can fix that little prob with the casting by just shaving down the width of the hands then instead of changing the sculpture..... I've gotten pretty good at sculpting with silicone caulk as well LOL!

You do see Talos' back a couple of times, once the upper back looking over his left shoulder and then again looking straight up at his back from an extreme low angle

I sculpted him directly over an armature made by the great Tom Brierton!

Aha, I see now why the hands look bit square, you had to work around the armature!  Maybe the corners of the main palm block could be rounded off a bit?

For the next photos maybe you could turn your camera on the side (to portrait orientation) so we get a bigger view of Talos, and less wasted space on the sides of the photo?

Will do, I'll take some closer up pics later

Or the Ymir.

I see the 2 headed Gargantua on the wall, but please not that one!     Unless you redesigned it to become the puppet it should have been.  ( Like Jim Danforth's version.)

Ymir would be a good choice.  Or Kali.  But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, still lots more to see as Talos takes shape!

And definitely, definitely do a nice long animated shot of him before you pack him off to a drooling customer!

Well, I've got the Hydra up on the workbench next..... but yeah, still plenty of picking left to do on Talos before molding. Nick, there's a lot more Kong animation coming that my buddy is comping at the mo..... too much to do and sooooo little time LOL!!

Beautiful armature!! Man I hope to one day make something as awesome as that!! Cant wait to see him animated!!
