The SMA Archive is now LIVE!

In 2012, StopMotionAnimation.com was a website that was sinking fast. It was limping along with old message board software that was purchased from an eventually abandoned and unsupported company; DCScripts. I remember occasionally getting messages saying "The site is down, can you fix it?!". I had no idea how but eventually sorted out each emergency. The site was huge and costly. All this got me thinking that something had to be done. Either completely shut down the site, or start over. Both scenarios meant losing all the old information stored in the cryptic codes embedded into DCScripts' clunky out-dated software.

A million thanks and praises go Paul J. McConnochie and his desire to sort thru mountains of data and images to create a new resource for everyone to enjoy. So, here it is, all the old discussions presented in a new format, risen from the ashes!

Awesome! Glad to hear it hasn't all gone away!

Wow, incredible news!!! I really thought it was gone forever. My heart rejoices!!! The universe is restored to order once again!

Fantastic news! YAY!

Awesome news!!

Thank you Paul, that must have been a lot of work, but very much appreciated!

It was quite an undertaking, but I enjoyed doing it. And, I'm so happy people are enjoying it and finding it useful.

Today, in fact, I have added a simple search box, to make tracking down information easier. I hope that people find that useful.

That's great! I was going to ask about a search function, that has been so useful on the old forum.

It's also really fun to find back old threads when I was making my first steps in exploring stop motion animation...

Thanks again. I've also shared it in the Facebook stop motion community, so it can be enjoyed by even more people. :)

Is the archive site still accessible, I am getting an error message when I click on the link. Server cannot find the page.

thanks

Hi Skip, that link stopped working awhile ago. Not sure what happened to it as the Archive isn’t hosted on this server.

That's my fault. Sorry folks. I'll see if I can get it back online in the next few days.

Thanks for looking into this

Anthony- i just joined (again) today, and am now online, but on repeated clicks on the StopMotionAnimation ARCHIVE link, this is what appears :

404 Not Found
The server can not find the requested page:
www.vortex42studios.com/sma/ (port 80)

....wuzzup ?

It is still not back up as far as I can tell. The SMA Archive is a side project put in place and hosted by Paul J. McConnochie.
