taking one frame at a time since 1999

Hi again. I am going to get a DSLR camera for stop motion animation. I do not want to spend over £350, but I want a good camera that will be good for animation and shooting live action (I do experimenting with live action and stop motion). Do DSLR's like the Canon EOS 1100D (which gets pretty good reviews) come with a live capture cable so I can do animation from my laptop? I may go for Stop Motion Pro in terms of software. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Ok, that's exactly what the Dragonframe site lists as the T2i's live feed dimensions, so it looks like their data is accurate.

The 1000D (Rebel XS) is from 2008, three years before the 1100D (T3) so it's odd that they would both have the same live feed side despite the some what major difference in release dates.

You're using an 1100D?  I did notice Dragonframe lists 2 different versions of that camera - one is an XS and the other has a different designation at the end. Wonder if they're different? '

Ok, I'll go check - BRB..

Looks like on'es an XS and the other is a T3, but they're both listed as having the same size live feed - 858 x 560

Oh ok - you're right - the XS does say 1000D, not 1100D. Not that that;s easy to read when they're listed in small print one right above the other:

Canon EOS 450D/Digital Rebel XSi
Canon EOS 500D/Digital Rebel T1i
Canon EOS 550D/Digital Rebel T2i
Canon EOS 600D/Digital Rebel T3i *
Canon EOS 1000D/Digital Rebel XS
Canon EOS 1100D/Digital Rebel T3 *

But they are both listed as having the same size live feed output.
