"I've found a drum stool is quite useful as long as you don't mind it not having a back, can be put away when you're not using and rotates nicely."

"I use a folding stool. When not in use, it can tuck under the plank on top of my Ikea sawhorses. (Yes, same set up!) $12.99 at Target in US but probably lots of others out there."

Home studio setup

Hi there I’m currently turning my room into a hybrid studio and seeing as how it’s the size of a large cardboard box, I’m having to be very particular about space. I’m using a wooden plank and ikea sawhorses as a table and have a couple lights, a camera, and a tripod. But I’m wondering if there’s any other quality of life equipment that some here think I might need that would be small enough to fit in this space, specifically, a chair. I know a lot of people animate standing up, but I sometimes…See More

"I ones found that I could edit the frame rate in the header of an .avi with a avi editor. It ran smoothly on the pc for the demo. Don't know if it will help you. "

"I remember Super 8mm film at 18 fps, but it is not a standard rate like Film 24, PAL 25, or NTSC 30 fps.   I find 15 fps (half the ntsc rate) doesn't look steppy, so 18 fps would look pretty good.  I shoot at 24 or 25, 12 or 12 1/2…"

HELP! exporting in premiere at 18fps

Hi everyone. I've been having major issues trying to export an 18fps video shot on ones from premiere, mostly because it seems like all the normal formats and codecs are unavailable to clips with that frame rate. Every time I try to export using one of the few options available by matching sequence settings (like quicktime animation or microsoft avi), which it seems is the only way to export with a custom frame rate, I either get weird desaturation, an unplayable file, or one that stutters upon…See More

"A lot of people seem to be going for the Sony cameras. But Dragonframe stil reckon that a Canon body with manual Nikon lenses works best for stop motion. What you are asking is whether there is a camera that does everything well, and the answer is…"

Good camera with recording capability?

I’m relatively new to stop motion and, as I am graduating college, will soon no longer have access to my department’s equipment. As such, I’ve decided to buy my own camera, but have very little clue what specs are optimal. I wanted this to be a camera that was able to record video, as well, to use in my daily life. My friend recommended the Sony A7II for video, but I’m not sure how it would do with stop motion (though it is supported by dragonframe now). I’ve shot on a canon eos rebel in the…See More
