Yes it's silicone with an armature inside.The flippers are in brass wiring.There was also a beetle for this Canadian length film.I forget the name, i'll try to find.It was just few minutes of stopmo.
Thanks, hair application is can be hard if you dont have the exact visual process in your head. Thats why it's great to have input from fallow fabricators. I have a general idea of how its done, but knowing exactly how it's done, always helps!
